In today's world, where e-commerce is developing at an alarming rate, having tools that facilitate sales and product offer management is crucial. One such tool is Baselinker - a platform that allows integration with various sales channels, order management, and the automation of many processes.
In this series of articles, we will take a closer look at how to integrate the Matterhorn offer with Baselinker using the BaselinkerConnect service, and then how to import it to your store or list it on selected marketplaces. Baselinker will act as an intermediary between your online store or marketplace account and the wholesale supplier.
Baselinker is a system that allows you to manage sales across multiple channels simultaneously. With it, you can synchronize inventory levels, manage orders, and create listings in your online store as well as on popular marketplaces such as Allegro, Amazon, eMAG, and Kaufland.
It can also serve as a tool for integrating inventory levels with store systems and automating order placement with suppliers.
Baselinker allows for the automation of many processes, which significantly saves time and minimizes the risk of errors.
In our case, we will use it to integrate with the Matterhorn offer so that it reaches your online store and ensures the updating of inventory levels and prices.
In our case, we will use the Baselinker system to import the Matterhorn offer and set the system to automatically synchronize prices and inventory levels. This way, we will create a product database that we can synchronize with your online store or list directly on marketplace platforms. This solution relieves us from the need to write complicated integrations. The Baselinker system is a very versatile tool, so it is worth understanding how it works and how to approach synchronization.
In this section, we will describe how to import and set up product synchronization from Matterhorn with Baselinker - in subsequent articles, we will explain how to connect your store to the system or how to list products on marketplaces.
First of all, we need to create an account in the Baselinker system - you have nothing to lose, as the application offers a free trial period. Go to the Base.com website and register on the platform.
After creating an account and logging into baselinker, you will see a page like this:
The first step in our case will be to prepare a product catalog for the offer coming from Matterhorn. We need to determine in which currency and language we want to import products into Baselinker. Let's assume we want to import products in the English version and in EURO currency.
Baselinker can store products in its Inventories - this allows for the division of products, for example, depending on which supplier they come from. Product Inventories must be linked to warehouses and pricing profiles. This may seem complicated at first, but by following step by step, we will quickly and easily carry out the entire process.
The first step is to create a price group for our products. If we want the products from Matterhorn to be in euros, we need to add such a group to Baselinker. To do this, in the left menu go to "Products" -> "Settings", and then in the next submenu click on "Price Groups"
Click on "Add price group"
Enter the group name, e.g. "Pricelist EUR", choose the appropriate currency. The rest of the settings can remain as indicated in the attached screenshot.
Now it's time to create an inventory to which Baselinker will add products from Matterhorn.
To create an Inventory, go back to Products -> Settings and select from the submenu. "Inventories" - Then click the "Add Inventory" button.
Fill out the form - the name of the inventory can be anything, but it is advisable to choose a name that clearly indicates which products will be in the inventory. Select the language of the products you want to import from Matterhorn in the available languages field. You must also choose a price group. We plan to import products in English and prices in euros into our inventory. The screenshot below shows how the inventory addition form should look. WARNING: It is important to disable stock reservations.
We have already prepared the inventory for the products from the Matterhorn offer.
In the next step, we will connect to the wholesaler through the Baselinker Connect service and import the products into our inventory.
To download products to us, we need to connect with the Baselinker Connect service. To do this in Baselinker, go to the menu and select "Integrations", and then click on "Add integration". W the window, a list of possible integrations will appear. In the search field, type "Baselinker Connect" and then click on the Baselinker Connect icon:
After clicking on the integration icon, a field will appear for entering the connection code - depending on the language and currency in which you want to import products from Matterhorn, you must select the appropriate integration code from the list below (if the language or currency you are interested in is missing, please contact us - we will prepare the code for the appropriate integration for you):

It is important to overwrite invoice data - the Baselinker system will be able to automatically place orders in Matterhorn based on orders from your store or those placed through the marketplace. However, the invoice data for Matterhorn will always be your data. Here is an example of the data in the form:
After clicking Save, if everything went well, we can proceed to the settings of our integration.
In the integration settings, we can establish several important things:
- In the Products section, we can add our markup to wholesale prices - this way, in our product catalog, we will see prices already increased by our markup.
Example: If we want our prices to have a 50% markup on wholesale costs, we set the price multiplier to 1.5 based on the purchase prices. Baselinker allows for creating pricing tiers and setting price markup for each price range.
In section PRICES Enable price synchronization - this way, Baselinker will ensure that your Invontory always contains the latest price list from Matterhorn. Choose the appropriate price group - in our case, it will be the group concerning the EURO currency.
In the "STOCK" section, enable stock synchronization. The integration will create a new warehouse in your Baselinker - we will need to add it later to the previously created Inventory.
Save changes.
As mentioned earlier, the integration created a new warehouse in our Baselinker. We need to assign it to our product Inventory so that we can import products into it. Go back to "Products" -> "Settings" and in the submenu select "Inventories".
Choose our Inventory created for Matterhorn products, and in the "Available Warehouses" field, you will now be able to select a warehouse created through integration. Add it to our Inventory.
So far:
- we have created an account in Baselinker
- we have created a Inventory for products from the Matterhorn offer
- we have established price margins so that the products in the catalog already include prices with our margin.
- we have connected to Matterhorn using the Baselinker Connect service and added a new warehouse to our Inventory
In the next step, we will import products from Matterhorn.
Go to "Products" in Baselinker -> "Import/Export" - here we can select a one-time product import as well as a recurring import that will periodically update our product database. Let's start with a one-time product import to our catalog. Click the "Import now" button and choose the "Import from Baselinker Connect" option.
In the window that appears, select the options according to the settings from the screenshot below:
We need to select an external warehouse (created by Baselinker Connect integration) here, choose the import type as importing new products, select our target Inventory that we created in the previous steps, and the product language we planned to add. After clicking "Start import," Baselinker will begin importing products - our offer includes over 30,000 models, so the process will take some time.
If you want to set up automatic importing of new products into your catalog, then perform similar actions for the cyclic import option.
If you want to see the imported products, go to "Products" -> "Product List" and change the filtering Inventory from "Default" to the Inventory we created before - after this change, you will see the list of products imported from our wholesale.
The most important stage is behind us! In this guide, we have prepared the Baseliner system for integration with Matterhorn and completed the product database and full offer of the Matterhorn wholesaler. Now a sea of opportunities opens for you - you can import these products into your store and list them directly from Baseliner on the marketplaces.
In the following parts of the guides, we will explain how to integrate a Woocommerce or other store with Baselinker, import the offer into it, and automate the transfer of orders to Matterhorn. We will also show how to list products on marketplaces.
