In the previous sections, we described how to set up a store on the Shopify platform and how to install and configure the dropshipping app "Matterhorn". Now it’s time to choose the products to sell in your store.

How to choose products for import in the Matterhorn Dropshipping app for Shopify?

The Matterhorn Dropshipping app allows precise management of your store's offerings, enabling you to select specific products for import. In this part of the guide, we will discuss how to add individual products to the import list, which is ideal for store owners who want to carefully curate their inventory.

"My Products" Section

The list of products selected for import is located in the "My Products" section. At first, it is empty – this means you need to manually add the products that will appear in the store.

Searching for products and adding products

Method one: Manual selection of specific products

To find suitable products, go to Products -> Products in the app. In this section, you can browse the wholesaler's offerings and use the search function. You can search in several ways:

• By brand – by entering the manufacturer's name, you can quickly find products from that brand.

• By category – by browsing specific product groups, e.g., dresses, footwear, or lingerie.

• By product ID – if you know the specific product ID number, you can search for it directly.

Adding products to the import list

When you find an interesting product, you can easily add it to the import list:

1. Click on the product to see its details.

2. Press the "Add to My Products" button.

3. The product will be added to the "My Products" section and will be imported to your store after some time. You will also be able to modify the markup for the selected product there. By default, it will be set to the value we set in the app configuration. 

Who is this solution for?

Manual product addition is particularly recommended for store owners who want to carefully curate their inventory. This allows for:

• Selecting only the best-selling products.

• Avoiding excess inventory in the store.

• Full control over the offering.

Method two: Importing entire product categories

If you want to quickly add a large number of products, you can import entire categories. To do this, go to the "Products" -> "Categories" section. There you will find a list of categories – by clicking the toggle next to each one, you will add all products from that category to your import list.

It is worth noting that a single category can contain even several thousand products. Therefore, we suggest that before adding an entire category, you first review the products to ensure they meet your needs.

Method three: Importing all products from selected brands

If you want to quickly stock your store with products from a specific brand, you can import all its products. To do this, go to the "Products" -> "Brands" section, where you will find a list of all brands available in Matterhorn's offering.

Additionally, in this section, you will find useful information about each brand, such as:

• Product origin,

• Number of available products,

• Price range,

• Number of recently added products.

To add products from a specific brand to your import list:

1. Click the "Connect brand" button next to the selected brand.

2. The system will ask what markup you want to assign to this brand.

3. After confirmation, all products from this brand will be added to the "My Products" section after a while.

With this feature, you can easily and quickly stock your store with products from selected brands, which significantly simplifies the process of building your offering.

Waiting time for product import

After adding products to the "My Products" list, they will appear there within a few minutes. Then, after several minutes, they will gradually start appearing in your Shopify store.

It is worth remembering that Shopify has daily limits on adding products. A maximum of several hundred products can be imported within a day. If you add a larger number of products, the next batch will be automatically imported 24 hours after reaching the limit.

Don't worry about it – the import process will continue automatically until all selected products are added to your store.
