In this part of the guide, you will learn how to adjust shipping costs in your Shopify store to account for the charges applied by Matterhorn. Shipping costs are available in the app under the "Shipping rates" section and are calculated based on the cheapest available shipping method for a given country.
If you want the app to create a new shipping profile for products from the Matterhorn wholesale offer, go to the "Shipping rates" section in the app and use the "Add Shipping Profile for Products From This App" option.
This way, a new shipping profile will be created in your store with prices taken from our app. This profile will only apply to products from our offer, so you can still sell other products based on your already configured price lists. Moreover, you can freely modify the created shipping profile and adjust the prices as you see fit. This process speeds up the store setup.
If you do not want to use the Matterhorn price list in your store, you can manually configure your shipping profile based on the Matterhorn dropshipping price list. Remember, the price list must include a "location" named "Matterhorn fulfillment" for Matterhorn products to be considered.
Before we start, let’s explain how shipping costs are configured in Shopify.
In Shopify, configuring shipping costs is based on several key elements.
Shipping profiles allow you to define different delivery rules for specific groups of products – for example, you can set different rates for light clothing and different ones for heavier shoes.
Location refers to places from which products are shipped – it can be your own warehouse, an external supplier, or even several points at once. Shipping zones define the geographic areas to which the store delivers – for example, a division into Poland, Europe, and the rest of the world. Finally, we have
Rates, which are the specific costs assigned to a given zone and shipping method, e.g., free shipping above 100 EUR or a fixed courier fee of 15 EUR. Shopify provides great flexibility in their configuration, allowing you to tailor shipping costs to your store's sales strategy.
